I always offer pre-wedding portraits, Engagement Portraits, pre-wedding photography sessions to my brides and grooms who have booked us for their wedding photography, both as a way of celebrating your engagement, for us to get to know each other even better, and to get used to working together. If you would like to make the most of the opportunity to create a beautiful set of wedding photographs, I recommend that we prepare for this with a pre-wedding or engagement portrait session. Few couples have been photographed professionally before, and often assume they won’t be comfortable being photographed. It’s quite normal to feel a little nervous, but by the end of the session most people are having a great time and don’t want it to end! If we show up cold on the big day it’s a bit like re-introducing ourselves, as opposed to walking in and saying Hi as if we’ve been friends for ages.
So the pre-wedding shoot will boost your confidence in front of the camera, and you’ll learn skills to help you relax, while giving us a chance to get to know each other better. On the wedding day, we can then concentrate on making a set of fantastic portraits in a relatively short amount of time, because you’ll be comfortable with the way that we work together. It will prove that being photographed doesn’t hurt!
I really enjoy our pre-wed sessions, and I’m sure you will too. They are fun, there’s no agenda or timetable, we usually spend a couple of hours together, and we have fun as we all get used to each other. We can go to your venue and combine our recce with your engagement portrait session, or we can go somewhere that is special for you. You are welcome to bring props, changes of clothes, and ideas to make your session unique.
Let’s meet up to discuss your wedding and pre-wedding photography, so please contact us here.
