Waddesdon Manor Weddings

Waddesdon Manor Weddings

I was thrilled to be asked by Tracey and Richard to photograph their Waddesdon Manor wedding. Partly because I liked them very much as a couple, (we had a brilliant pre-wedding portrait session at Wrest Park) and partly because I love Waddesdon Manor weddings, especially at a new venue, and The Dairy at Waddesdon Manor was a new venue to me. It’s a myth to think that you get the best out of a venue by knowing it well. Very often the opposite is true – it’s easy to revert to tried and tested images at a venue you’re familiar with, whereas at somewhere fresh and different you are on high alert for every creative possibility.

The Dairy is perfect for Waddesdon Manor Weddings. It is a self-contained venue on the Waddesdon estate, a private building and gardens just for you! Tracey was able to get ready there together with her bridesmaids, and walk (dodging the raindrops!) into The Dairy for her wedding ceremony. The natural light in The Dairy at Waddesdon was soft and plentiful, and we were able to document their ceremony discretely and quietly.

We braved the wind and dodged the showers to wander into the gardens for some relaxed portraits, Tracey happily accepting that her dress would have to embrace the experience too! Then back inside for speeches, tributes and leg-pulling, before their first dance together as a married couple. The venue is a delight, as are this lovely couple.

So don’t worry if your photographer hasn’t worked at the venue you’ve chosen. Choose him or her for their style, look, aura, GSOH, or whatever they have for breakfast, and let their skill and visual creativity document your wedding day for you in your fabulous venue, maybe even The Dairy at Waddesdon Manor 🙂

For the technically minded, this wedding was shot with Fujifilm XPro2 cameras and a handful of prime lenses, with the exception of the dancing which was shot with Canon.
