Victoria and Sam | London Wedding | Guard’s Chapel
May 11, 2012
Victoria and Sam’s London wedding took place in the impressive Guard’s Chapel, Westminster, part of the Wellington Barracks in London. It’s a monumental building, decorated with the standards of many regiments, both current and past. The alter remains from a previous incarnation, before the building was damaged in the war. It’s a striking contrast.
Sam got ready at the fabulous Berkeley Hotel, and Dana photographed the boys as they walked to the chapel. It was a beautiful service, with members of the Regimental Band of the Irish Guards playing, and there was also a beautiful soloist from the Choir of the Guards’ Chapel. After the ceremony there was an impressive Guard of Honour in their red tunics and bear skin hats.
We had a chance to take some portraits of the bridal party in St James’ Park, as we walked to One Great George Street for the reception.
It was a fantastic day, full of ceremony, dignity, laughter and love.
I photographed Vix and Sam for their pre-wedding session, which you can see here.
