Naomi and Ben | Wedding Photographers in Hertfordshire

Wedding photographers in Hertfordshire have a fantastic choice for pre-wedding shoot venues. Naomi and Ben chose Verulam Park in the heart of St Albans for their portrait shoot, and we met by the ancient and much loved Fighting Cocks, a well-known landmark and watering hole. The huge porch to the Abbey makes a great wind-break, and the light is soft and directional there, and it’s dry! Dodging the showers, we braved the walk along the edge of the lake, with Naomi and Ben strolling and chatting as we went. All very relaxed and comfortable, they were completely at ease with me either photographing as they were, or gently directing them. I’m really looking forward to their wedding day – it’s going to be good!

There are more images in the Photofilm in the previous post, but here is a selection for your quiet perusal :)

Naomi and Ben | A Pre-wedding Photofilm

The Wedding Photofilm is to become a big part of my working practice as a wedding and portrait photographer. The added impact of hearing as well as seeing couples on the most important days of their lives is a powerful and emotional addition to the stills photography I shoot.

All my commissioned work this year will feature recorded sound in some capacity. I say that only as I am trialling new sound recording techniques as I go, and inevitably there will be a few, well, below standard outcomes. But this is all good, as without trying new things we won’t move forward and grow. It goes without saying that the photography is always the priority in every case, and the sound recording fits into our workflow around the photographs.

So here is my pre-Wedding Photofilm of Naomi and Ben’s pre-wedding portraits, taken on a chilly day in Verulam Park in sunny St Albans. They are a great couple to work with, happy being together, and happy in front of the camera, and I’m really looking forward to their wedding in May.

As always, do leave a comment in the box below, and feel free to share this post with your friends.

Zoe and Paul’s Wedding Album | Wedding Photographers in Hertfordshire

Zoe and Paul’s wedding took place last summer, and it’s not unusual for my clients to take a few months to finalise their album choices. In this case Zoe and Paul’s task was punctuated by the arrival of baby Isla, who makes a valid excuse for completely forgetting about wedding photos!

As wedding photographers in Hertfordshire we didn’t have far to go for their wedding celebrations, which took place in St Mary’s in Hemel Hempstead, and then back to St Michael’s Manor for the reception.

It’s been great to re-visit their wedding through our photography – so much has happened for all of us since then. Zoe and Paul ordered one of our most beautiful albums, the hand-made 12×12 inch Jorgensen, a classic album with a contemporary twist and matted pages. The full story of their wedding day is beautifully laid out, and will become a family heirloom and lasting social document of one of the biggest celebrations of their lives. It’s for this reason I encourage all my clients to complete their wedding day photography with an album. Photographs are important – printed photographs are even more so. For many people, their wedding album is the first thing they grab when faced with flood, famine and pestilence!

You can see my original blog post of Zoe and Paul’s wedding here.

Enjoy the story of their day…
