Kelly and Chris | Pre-wedding Portraits

Kelly and Chris’ pre-wedding portraits session was in deepest darkest Kent, well, near Farningham, a beautiful part of the world. I’ve known Chris for a good few years now, and now having met Kelly I can see how they complete each other. Their love shows through in these images, without any awkwardness or artifice. Pure emotion, companionship, and passion.

We drove to the nearby lake to start the session, then went on to Eynsford Castle, the old flint remains making a great backdrop for pictures, especially for a black and white treatment in post-production. Even in colour, the soft light gave everything a neutral palette, perfect for emphasising a feeling rather than a place.

I love shooting these pre-wedding portraits – there is no agenda, so we can just play, get comfortable with each other, and produce some very personal and meaningful images. I recommend having a session to all my couples, and without exception they say it is well worth doing. Here is Chris’ comment – “We are absolutely delighted with how the pictures turned out! Thank you!”

Here are a few favourites from our session together. I’m really looking forward to Kelly and Chris’ wedding day later this year.

Aisha and Asela | Pre-wedding Portraits

Here is my latest Photofilm of this fabulous couple Aisha and Asela, whose wedding is later on this year.

We met at Tower Hill, on a cold, crisp and bright day, where the hard sunlight was almost brittle, and we sought softer shade to shoot in. Our wanderings took us across Tower Bridge, and as luck would have it the bridge was raised just as we had crossed it – you can see the angled road in some of the images. These pre-wedding portrait sessions are fun to do, and have no agenda other than to get us all relaxed in the presence of the camera! Aisha and Asela were brilliant to photograph, and as you’ll see, completely natural and spontaneous.

Do enjoy the Photofilm, and feel free to leave a comment afterwards.

Liz and Paul’s Pre-wed Portraits | Wedding Photographers in Hertfordshire

Liz and Paul’s pre-wedding portraits were done one sunny morning over at Sarratt, in very sunny Hertfordshire! Being wedding photographers in Hertfordshire, we get to use loads of beautiful locations for my pre-wedding clients, as well as shooting in some of the best wedding venues around.

Liz and Paul were great fun, and although they might not admit it, they became very relaxed in front of the camera, as you can see. These sessions are a great way to settle in, photographically speaking. It’s also great to spend a bit of time together, getting to know each other, and generally getting us an even more comfortable fit. All of which makes the wedding day photography a little less odd, a little more friendly, and a little less obvious. Having seen me with my cameras and stuff, it’s now something that Liz and Paul will be expecting to see and less of a horrible shock when they see me! Well, hopefully…:)

These images are featured in the slideshow in the previous blog. If you have three minutes, do pop back and have a look – it’s a very different viewing experience, especially with the sound of Liz and Paul’s voices. Let me know what you think.

If you’d like to book a pre-wedding portraits session, or any portraits session, come to that, do get in touch. Comments and conversation are welcome too.
