Karen and Steve | Pendley Manor | Hertfordshire Weddings

Karen and Steve Jewish wedding celebrations took place at Pendley Manor, Hertfordshire, and despite having been a wedding photographer for longer than I really need to remember, I haven’t photographed there before, something which I’ve had to work hard convincing people, especially my wedding photographer friends. It’s a lovely venue, and Karen and Steve were looked after really well.

It had dried out about enough for just heels to sink into the grass, as opposed to one’s whole leg (it’s been that wet) and so we had a chance to break our reportage coverage of the day’s events to go outside for some portraits. Pendley Manor is famous for it’s peacocks, but despite my best efforts (peacock herding is an acquired skill…) I couldn’t get a decent shot of one with the couple. Happily I got some lovely shots of Karen and Steve without peacocks, so that’s a result!

Karen looked amazing in her dress, and I know Steve was thrilled when he looked round and saw her walking down the aisle towards him. The ceremony was touching, with lots of good humour. And talking of humour, the speeches were excellent, especially Steve’s opening remark, the response to which you can see below.

Here are a few favourites from the day. If you’d like to discuss your wedding photography at Pendley Manor, please contact me here.

Talia and Michael | Pre-wedding Portraits

What a contrast from the last pre-wedding portraits session – blazing sunshine!

I met Talia and Michael at their wedding venue, The Auberge du Lac on the Brocket Hall Estate, the perfect place for Hertfordshire weddings. I know the venue well, as I am one of the preferred suppliers there. The grounds are a gift to photographers, and wedding couples too of course, and so we ambled off to get used to cameras clicking. I have to say, Talia and Michael’s initial nerves went by the third frame, (I was counting!) and we had a lot of laughs as we enjoyed the views across the lakes and golf course.

Here are some of my faves from our session.

Louise and Steve’s Wedding Album

This design for a luxury wedding album for Louise and Steve is for a Finao 12″ x 12″ contemporary flush-mount album, where the images have the potential to go right to the page edges, hence flush-mount. The photographic prints are mounted onto this card, and go right across the gutter with a gentle crease in the middle.

These albums tend to be lighter and slimmer than the traditional matted albums, and have more layout and graphic possibilities, with added colours, type, and effects. I prefer a simple elegant layout, with the photographs clear and bright, rather than cluttered with blends and fades.
