Kelly and Chris | Pre-wedding Portraits

Kelly and Chris’ pre-wedding portraits session was in deepest darkest Kent, well, near Farningham, a beautiful part of the world. I’ve known Chris for a good few years now, and now having met Kelly I can see how they complete each other. Their love shows through in these images, without any awkwardness or artifice. Pure emotion, companionship, and passion.

We drove to the nearby lake to start the session, then went on to Eynsford Castle, the old flint remains making a great backdrop for pictures, especially for a black and white treatment in post-production. Even in colour, the soft light gave everything a neutral palette, perfect for emphasising a feeling rather than a place.

I love shooting these pre-wedding portraits – there is no agenda, so we can just play, get comfortable with each other, and produce some very personal and meaningful images. I recommend having a session to all my couples, and without exception they say it is well worth doing. Here is Chris’ comment – “We are absolutely delighted with how the pictures turned out! Thank you!”

Here are a few favourites from our session together. I’m really looking forward to Kelly and Chris’ wedding day later this year.

Aisha and Asela | Pre-wedding Portraits

Here is my latest Photofilm of this fabulous couple Aisha and Asela, whose wedding is later on this year.

We met at Tower Hill, on a cold, crisp and bright day, where the hard sunlight was almost brittle, and we sought softer shade to shoot in. Our wanderings took us across Tower Bridge, and as luck would have it the bridge was raised just as we had crossed it – you can see the angled road in some of the images. These pre-wedding portrait sessions are fun to do, and have no agenda other than to get us all relaxed in the presence of the camera! Aisha and Asela were brilliant to photograph, and as you’ll see, completely natural and spontaneous.

Do enjoy the Photofilm, and feel free to leave a comment afterwards.

A Happy Pre-wedding Portraits Session in a Forest!

Nina and Ryan’s wedding is in a few week’s time in London, so we squeezed in a pre-wedding portraits session to get to know each other better. The only pre-requisite was that it had to take place in a forest, as a contrast to the urban environment that Nina and Ryan share living and working in the city.

So Verulamium Park stepped up to the mark, here in sunny St Albans. It’s quite foresty in places, and the autumn colours were beautiful, perfect for pre-wedding portraits. Nina and Ryan are a great fun-loving couple, and ran and jumped and tussled together, completely happy with each other and with being in front of the camera. It was chilly, so coats were taken, only to be hung on various trees as we found another place to take some photos. All the while Ryan was collecting branches to make into table decorations for wedding day – he filled the car!

I do love these sessions, and I can’t wait for the wedding day - it’s going to be an all-day Hindu wedding extravaganza! I’ll be posting here all about it, so do check back!
