Hanbury Manor weddings are always brilliant fun, and wedding photography at Hanbury Manor is always a pleasure, and with my mix of documentary wedding photography and contemporary wedding portraits, this is an ideal Hertfordshire wedding venue. Hanbury Manor is a Five Star Country House hotel featuring a Jack Nicklaus designed 18 hole PGA Championship Golf Course.
Here’s a brief history of the house.
The estate was redeveloped over a three year period as a 5-star hotel and country club. The original school block, with its gym, chapel and classrooms, formed the base for a conference and banqueting centre set around the courtyard. The chapel, now named Poles Hall, has become the main banqueting hall. The Hanbury Manor golf course was first designed by Harry Vardon in the early 1900s as a 9-hole course, and the newer (1991) 18 hole PGA course by Jack Nicklaus. The course hosted the English Open from 1997 to 1999. The wedding of footballer Paul and Sheryl Gascoigne took place there in 1996, with guests including Chris Evans and Danny Baker.
With its walled gardens, stately Jacobean country house & 200 acres of Hertfordshire parkland, the historic Hanbury Manor makes a lasting impression. As London’s time honoured “Original Country Retreat”, you’ll find the service and amenities expected from a 5-star luxury hotel. It’s a standard that extends from the richly panelled library warmed by an open fireplace, to elegant guest rooms, each individually designed. There is award-winning dining at the Zodiac Restaurant and contemporary Oakes Grill. Enjoy the luxury spa, work out in the fitness centre or take on the PGA championship golf course. For weddings, Hanbury Manor offers a distinctive setting that will provide you and your guests with a memorable occasion.
