Broadstairs in Triplicate

December 12, 2016

Visiting Broadstairs as we do, a couple of times a year, to see my bro and his wife, we are irresistibly drawn to the coast. Coming across country from land-locked St Albans, it as almost a relief to see the sea and walk on the beaches.

As I have photographed here so many times now, I thought I’d approach the photography a bit differently and shoot only upright/portrait. That lead me to thinking how on earth do I shoot landscapes this way – and so – the triptych. Using my trusty X100T with it’s fixed 35mm equivalent lens, there is some distortion but I’m very happy with the results. It gives a very different look to the photography, not a bad thing in my books. Shot over two days of very different tides and weather.
