I love photographing weddings at Sidney Sussex College, right in the heart of Cambridge. Stephanie and Kevin’s wedding was no exception, and they both looked amazing on the day. Kevin was extremely dapper in his morning suit, and Stephanie was stunning in her Paloma Blanca gown and Alexander McQueen shoes. Working with an associate photographer as I always do, means that we can be in two places at once – Sally was with the boys, and I was with the girls to start the day. We then meet up at the chapel and get different viewpoints there too.
There was a strong sense of love and support for the couple, and it was an intimate wedding with about forty guests. The speeches were excellent, moving many people to tears with words of kindness and love. Many of the photographs we captured at Sidney Sussex College show tender moments between the couple and their friends and family. Our documentary photography records many moments as they happen throughout the day, and later we are always pleased to have an opportunity to create some beautiful portraits of the couple alone, often away from the melée for the first time during the day. Our lovely day together ended with a stroll through the city, and back to Sidney Sussex College.
