St Michael’s Manor Wedding Photography | Vicky and Pete

Vicky and Pete booked me last year for their St Michael’s Manor wedding photography. Their wedding took place in the beautiful Hertfordshire wedding venue St Michael’s Manor, which is one of my favourite venues for wedding photography, and I’m delighted to be one of their preferred suppliers. Our day together started together with Vicky and Pete both getting ready at St Michael’s Manor, (in separate rooms!) and Vicky was fine until she read the card that Pete had left for her – it was too much, the emotions came welling up. She was still trying to gather herself when her dad came to walk her down to the ceremony room. Yes, it was an emotional day!

Vicky’s couture wedding dress was made by my good friend Louise at Louise Marie Couture, and as you’ll see, Vicky looked amazing wearing it. My usual documentary wedding photography approach was ideal for Vicky and Pete, unobtrusively and sensitively recording the ceremony and events of the day as their story unfolded. We made time during the afternoon for some relaxed wedding portraits as we walked around the lovely grounds and lake. We had previously had a pre-wedding portrait session together, and without doubt this helped Vicky and Pete to feel even more comfortable being photographed on their wedding day.

In fact there was no holding back – Vicky is in love, and Pete is the happiest man around!

As always, please leave a comment or two in the space below.

Alli and Richard | Pregnancy Portraits

As Hertfordshire wedding photographers, I photographed Alli and Richard before their wedding with their pre-wedding portrait session, and a few months later I photographed their wedding at Fanhams Hall in Hertfordshire. I was thrilled when Richard told me they were expecting their first baby, and I immediately wanted to photograph Alli again.

It was brilliant to see them again, and great to see they’d lost none of their touchy-feely passion for each other! We met in Verulam Park, here in chilly St Albans, chilly in keeping with both their pre-wedding shoot and their wedding day, where we all got caught in the blizzard! Not quite snowing today!

Victoria and Sam | Richmond Park

Pre-wedding portraits, engagement sessions, pre-wedding photography sessions

As you’ll see from these pre-wedding portraits of Victoria and Sam, it wasn’t difficult to get them relaxed in front of the camera. We had a brilliant engagement session in advance of their wedding next year at 1 Great George Street, London, a wedding venue which happily recommends me to their clients.

Vix and Sam and I met at Richmond Park, Pembroke Lodge to be precise, and as I always arrive early I had time to be blown away by the numbers of cyclists blasting around the park – literally hundreds. As a cyclist myself, it was a bit overwhelming, and I suddenly felt a bit out of practice. Hey ho, if there were 36 hours in a day…

Anyway, we got down to our pre-wedding photography session, and in the early morning sun Vix and Sam were glowing, and I really enjoyed making these photographs of them. The area around Pembroke Lodge is beautiful, and there were loads of great places for pictures, including a brilliant Witches House, something I used to make in the woods with my girls when they were little. These pre-wedding photography sessions are always a great way of getting used to being photographed before your wedding day, so on the day you’ll be as relaxed as Vix and Sam are here. Can’t wait for their big day!
